About Us
G4S Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC) cares for children aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The children in our care can be vulnerable and challenging, with a wide range of complex social and emotional needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for children to develop their life skills and address their previous behaviours. We aim to support change and learning.
We strive to help every child feel safe, giving them an opportunity to heal from trauma and feel supported in developing a more positive identity. We ensure our children have equal access and opportunity for change and are celebrated for their strengths. We want the children in our care to leave better equipped for life emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially. Our hope is that they will go on to make decisions and life choices that will lead to increasingly positive and productive lives. We aim to support the constructive resettlement and transition of our children, whether returning to the community or moving to other custodial settings. About the Role
Oakhill STC is a fast paced, complex and challenging environment and as such the successful candidate needs to be resilient, innovative, and passionate and work collaboratively.
We are looking for an organised and experienced Administrator to join our Safety Team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre. With excellent administration and organisational skills the successful candidate will provide an effective and efficient administration service to the Safety Team.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:
- Regular minute taking for processes that sit under the Safety function, ensuring actions are sending actions to relevant owners and followed up to undertake.
- Working with the teams that sit under ‘Safety’ to support recording of information and logging on appropriate databases.
- Undertake audits on relevant processes behalf of the Head of Safety.
- Compliance log submission to the audit and compliance team.
- Support the Senior Safety manager by recording relevant SASH information.
- Preparing Ofsted evidence for the safety team.
- Creating and managing documents.
- Filing and Archiving
- Creating documents using software such as Canva and Google docs.
- Preparing and collating data to support relevant senior managers.
- Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health and Safety culture across the site
leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely
manner and following the applicable safe systems of work for the role.
About you
You will have administration experience with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will have a can do attitude, along with an attention to detail. You will work collaboratively and openly whilst being a key member of the team.
As an experienced Administrator, it is essential that you have experience of working within a multifunctional and demanding environment. You will be a dynamic and engaging individual with a good sense of humour, who shares our ethics and values and is eager to support the Department's successful delivery.
