About the Role

We are looking to recruit additional  SIA Security Officers to support our current Events Team working at Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh - hosting Terminal V Festival, We Love It Festival, Royal Highland Show, Scottish Festival of Motoring, Truckfest Scotland, Heather on the Hill Festival and Edinburgh Summer Sessions.  Additionally you could find yourself supporting the broader music and sports events at Edinburgh Corn Exchange and Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium - Zach Bryan, Luke Combs and Bon Jovi; and the home of Edinburgh Rugby - Hive Stadium. Our Events SIA Security Officers provide a visible reminder that safety is our number one priority for visitors and staff. This means you could be working indoors or outdoors, on your feet showing visitors where to go, checking tickets at entry points, monitoring crowds, or managing the car parking facilities. Wherever you are, you will be a helpful and friendly face representing the event.

As an Events SIA Security Officer you will be responsible for securing venues, staff and visitors for our customers.

This may include:

  • Carrying out pre and post event safety checks ensuring compliance with safe working procedures
  • Searching visitors upon entry to venues
  • Ensuring that no prohibited or restricted items are taken into the secured zones within the venues
  • Monitoring visitor/crowd movements and behaviour to identify potential issues or incidents and to take action as necessary
  • Dealing with visitor/crowd disruptions
  • Securing licensed / hospitality areas

Requirements:

  • SIA Door Supervisor license required
  • Previous experience in events is not essential as full training will be provided
  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Evening and weekend availability required
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focused
